“East”

Carol’s voice: “I see you…”

“…come out, slowly…”

Male voice: “Yeah, I think I’m gonna pass on that?”

(Man bellows, then a shot. Blood dripping onto the asphalt. Cue the Bear McCreary score and opening credits.)

#shagapple

Rick: “This is good…”

Michonne: “It is.” (And I say, amen to that!)

Michonne (laughing): “Wait, no…no…no!”

Rick: “Why not?” (And man, I was asking that too, watching this…make the love while the sun shines, Michonne, because shit’s going downhill fast as this day progresses, as much as we all hate it, shit’s sad but true. I personally would have knocked out a quickie with the beautiful man before going about my morning chores!)

Michonne: “Maggie has us on a schedule, and I’m not pissing off a pregnant lady.”

Rick: “Yeah…not that pregnant lady.”

Michonne: “She’s (Maggie’s) worried about an attack.”

Rick: “When they come for us, we’ll end it…the whole thing. This isn’t like before.”

Rick: “The world’s ours, and we know how to take it.” (While I am loving Rick’s hotness in this scene, and am literally bathing in the beauty and sexiness of Richonne…feels so silky on the skin…I was freaking out inside at how overconfident he was being about being able to win against the Saviors. Does he really have no idea at this point how huge, and organized, this group is? Danger, Rick Grimes, danger!)

Rick: “Everything we need is right here, inside these walls, and we’re not losing any of it again. I’m not.” (Frankly, everything I would need would be right there inside that damn bed…Rick Grimes, naked, a snack for later…but, hey, that’s just me!) 😉

(At this point in the watching, I was going all Mr. Potato Head and shit, repeating to myself, “I’m a married spud, I’m a married spud!”)

Looking like a satisfied queen, Michonne echoes, “No, you’re not.” (Stomach falling, devastation feeling building…and almost a week later, at the time of this writing, the feeling has not abated. Not one tiny bit.) 😦

“Where are you going?”

“Out.”

Glenn: “What the hell’s he doing?” Michonne: “Something he shouldn’t.” Glenn (grabbing gun from bin): “We gotta stop him.”

(At this point in the rewatching/posting, I had to grab a tallboy for bravery. Cheers, #TWDFamily.) ❤

My WD buddy echoed my deep fears that this shot may be the last time Maggie and Glenn ever see each other…. 😦 😦 😦 😦

I am Joe’s complete and total devastation. SweetWater 420, take me away!

Carol: “I just have the car…and a knife for, for the dead ones, nothing else.”

Young Savior: “Naw, you got information, like where you’re from, where you’re goin’.”

Young Savior: “Aw, c’mon, it’s a lonely world. Let’s get to know each other. I’m Hiro. Your turn.”

Carol: “I’m nobody, really. Nancy, from Montclair…I’m not really from anywhere, I’m not really going anywhere.”

Hiro: “Well, at least we agree on one thing, Nancy from Montclair…you’re not going anywhere. But, you do seem like you’re from somewhere, after Montclair, right?”

Hiro: “Miles, wheat’s that place called? The gated one?” Miles: “Alexandria.”

Hiro: “Yeah, Alexandria. You know, they got some cars out front, spikes through ’em just like the one you’re drivin’. A woman like you, no weapons, no protection…no clue! You really shouldn’t be out here alone. You know, we were just on our way to your place? We can give you a ride back…maybe they’ll let us in if you’re with us.”

Carol (crying): “It doesn’t have to be this way! You can turn back, you can go home! Nobody has to get hurt!”

Hiro: “It’s lookin’ like someone’s gonna get hurt…” Carol (crying harder): “Please…” Man from inside truck: “Jes grab her before she passes out.” Carol (sobbing): “Don’t, please!”

(Ok, so if you were like me, you were probably wondering, at this point in the watching, “If Carol doesn’t want to kill anybody any more, why sew a Glock into her sleeve?” Excellent question, and while I do not have a definitive answer for this, I do offer two theories: The Carol On The Cross Theory goes something like this: Carol doesn’t want to kill, but in going off alone in the Feral Open, she does know by now that she will eventually run into some serious shit, and in such case, sometimes a gal’s gotta have a Glock in her sleeve. My other theory, the Cray Like A Silver Fox Theory, states that Carol intends to find Negan’s main compound and attempt to take sole responsibility for all the Saviors piling up dead (and undead), charred, smoking, all over the place, in a last ditch effort to atone somehow for her sins and help save her righteous tribe. What’s your theory?)

Carol: “I can see you. Come out…slowly.“

Hiro (crouching behind truck): “Yeah, I think I’m gonna pass on that?”

Hiro unsheaths his knife, bellows as he lunges for the attack…

…and gunfire rings out, followed by silence, and the drip, drip, drip sound of blood hitting the asphalt.
Meanwhile…

Morgan: “You didn’t have to come.”

Rick: “We have to try, even if it’s a long shot, even if it’s dangerous.” ❤ (Right here, it’s why I love this man so. J’adore, Rick Grimes! ❤ )

Rick: “Tire tracks pointed east…we’ll go east.”

Morgan: “The Saviors’ compound that you…that you went to, that was west.”

Rick shoots Morgan a look. After a moment, Morgan relents, “Seems like she went east.”

Rick looks away. “You don’t even know Carol,” he says. Morgan replies, “Oh, I got to.” “Why are you doin’ this?” asks Rick.

Morgan replies, “What I believe…I’m not right. There is no right. It’s just the wrong, it doesn’t pull you down.”

Rick: “It hasn’t pulled me down.” Morgan: “I think it will, cuz I know you.”

(Man, doesn’t even give his comrade the courtesy of a rekill…it is def clear by now that these Saviors are total dicks.)

Rick: “I’m proud of her.” Morgan: “How’s that?” Rick: “Well, she took four of ’em down…that woman, she’s a force of nature.”

Morgan: “She left because she can’t anymore…that’s what her letter said.”

Rick: “She could because she had to…sometimes, you have to.”

Rick: “They were close to Alexandria…there’s even more of them. We didn’t end it.”

Morgan: “No, you started something.”
Meanwhile, along the tracks…

Rosita: “(This is) where she died.”

Glenn: “Which way did Dwight run? Rosita?” Rosita: “You should let him do this.”

Glenn: “But he doesn’t know what he’s doing! We don’t! Maybe him trying this makes you feel better about it right now…maybe they keep knowing more about us than we know about them. Or, maybe, Daryl’s going to get himself killed!”

Glenn: “Which way did Dwight run?”

Rosita: “Watch the hell out, asshole!”

Daryl: “Yeah, I did…you shouldn’t have come!” Michonne: “You shouldn’t have left!”

Daryl: “When I split off from Sasha and Abraham, he was out there in the woods, in that burnt out forest with them girls…put a gun to my head, tied me up!“

Daryl: “I even tried to help him!” Glenn: “So, you think it’s your fault?”

Daryl: “Yeah, I know it is.”

Daryl: “I’m gonna do what I shoulda done before.”

Glenn: “She’s gone, man…”

“You’re doing this for you.”

Glenn: “Daryl, we need to get back there and figure this out from home…our home! We need you…”

“…and everyone back there needs us, right now!”

“It’s gonna go wrong out here.”

Michonne: “We’ll square it…I will…I promise you. Just come back.”

Daryl looks at Glenn a moment, then says, “I can’t.”

Glenn (stricken): “Bro…” Daryl (stalking off angrily): “Man, I can’t!”

Rosita thinks a moment.

“I can’t, either,” she says, and takes off after Daryl.

Glenn: “The world’s not what we thought it was…Hilltop, the Saviors, it’s bigger.” Just then, a singsong whistle pierces through the trees. Glenn and Michonne look up in alarm to see…

Morgan: “So, you’re out here because Carol’s your friend?”

Rick: “I’m out here because she’s my family.” Morgan: “I talked to people back there. I found out what happened at the prison, how you sent her away. She killed two of your people, right? Burned their bodies. What if that happened today? Would you kill her?”

Rick: “If it happened today, I’d thank her…or I would have killed them myself. She was right to do it…they were sick, spreading a disease. They weren’t gonna make it.” Morgan: “Yeah, but that was back then, and you didn’t kill her.”

Morgan: “You sent her away, Rick, and she came back. She came back and she saved all y’all. People can come back, Rick.“

Rick: “I don’t take chances any more.”

Morgan: “Those people, the Wolves, after they attacked, I found one of them. He had found me on the road before, when I was trying to find you. And I stopped him. But I let him live.”

Morgan: “And then he was there in Alexandria, hiding after the attack, in one of the brownstones, and I stopped him again.”

Morgan: “I knocked him out, and I could have killed him, But, all life is precious.”

Morgan: “I put him in the cell in the brownstone basement cuz I knew he could change. We can all change.”

Rick: “You had one of them alive in the community?”

Morgan: “Oh, yeah, and when the walls came down and the walkers broke in, Carol found out…we fought, and that man escaped, and Denise, she had come to the cell to try to help him and he took her hostage. She and that Wolf, they got swarmed, and that man, that killer, he saved her life…and then, Denise was there to save Carl. It’s all a circle. Everything gets a return.’

Morgan: “A fact is a fact. I did what I did. I let him live.”

Morgan: “You go home, Rick. Take the car. You’re needed back there. You shouldn’t be out here taking any more chances.”

Rick: “I’m not leaving…Carol is still out here.”

Morgan: “And I will find her, somehow. You go.” Rick: “You’re coming back.” Morgan: “Yeah, but if I don’t, don’t come looking.”

Rick holds out the handgun. “Take it.” Morgan tries to refuse, Rick insists. “Take it.” After a moment, Morgan takes the gun from Rick.

Rick: “Morgan.” Morgan turns to look at him.

Rick: “Michonne did steal that protein bar.”

Morgan (smiling): “I know.”

Rick: “Morgan’s stll out there, looking for her. Is Michonne here?”

Abraham: “She’s still out there, too.”

😦

Abraham: “You afraid? To go back to it? Letting somebody close?”

Rick (after a moment): “Yeah.”

Abraham nods. “Me too.”

Abraham pauses, adds, “Now, I think I’m that much more ready to tear the world a brand-new asshole.”

<3<3

Maggie: “I have to keep going….and I don’t want anything gettin’ in my way.”
